It is also called Bantay Bimaboy because the shape resembles a pig's back and has been declared as National Geological Monument.

MY La Paz Sand Dunes Adventure2

I try to hold on tight to the loop bars at the back of 4×4 jeep we were on but the large un-even size of the bars which are both larger than my grip were already a challenge. Besides, there was another person in front of me hugging the bar tight while screaming her head off. I let-off a scream as well as soon as I saw our way down the high ridge. Then it’s a strategic balance of rooting my legs inside the jeep to keep me from flying out as our jeep descends. The brief landing didn’t give us enough time to breath as our jeep make its way up the ridge and there are more ahead. Of the many times I’ve been to Paoay before but it has never been this fun until now.the Sand Dunes experience in Ilocos Norte, is really fun.

By the end of the course everyone on our 4X4 was just exhilarated. It was really fun and the most fun 4X4 experience I had. Paoay Sand Dunes really have something going here and I can certainly recommend it. Among the old favorites site in Ilocos, this is one great addition to the region and also my favorite paRT on our Ylocos Adventure.

Kapurpurawan Rock Formation - Nature's Artwork

It is located in Poblacion, Burgos, Ilocos Norte It is a massive rock that just out into the sea. From afar, it looks as if someone has wiped off the top layer frosting and exposed the cake that lies beneath. Up close, it is a dazzling bright white rock that sparkles in the sun. Kapurpurawan is a showcase for the power of wind and water on rock and coral.

I was wondering how I missed this fantastic attraction of Ilocos considering I have been to Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte several times.what is Kapurpurawan? our tour guide told us that, in ilocano it means "white".

It is Truly an extra ordinary sight. It is fast becoming one of the major tourist spots of Ilocos in addition to it's old churches, beautiful beaches and sumptuous cuisine.

It is also one of the promotional pictures of DOT that you can see in Toll gates of NLEX.

Glad got the chance to see and visit this breath taking 'Nature's Artwork'.

In addition, according to the locals, the upper beak of the rock looks like a Sphinx or head of sleeping dragon changes every year through natural conditions.

Tips:

* Wear a protective shoes. My sandals/slippers protected my poor feet a little but i could walk faster if I was wearing a closed shoes.
* Be extra careful since some parts of the trek is slippery. One of us tripped over the corals before she knew it, she slipped…
* Head off to the rock formation for more views and of course take some wonderful shots.
* No entrance fee. It is really an all-natural attraction. No vendors, nothing. Just pure nature.

Kawasan Falls of Badian Cebu

Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu kawasan falls Cebu is a peaceful natural place where you can enjoy many waterfalls of natural spring water located near the southern tip of Cebu Philippines.. A gentle hush of rushing ice cool water.. All this and more in Badian’s Kawasan Falls! Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride.

the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian.

From the entrance you will have to walk uphill for about 1.5 kl to get to the first waterfall. Along the way, souvenir shops are selling accessories such as beaded necklaces, bracelets, and Kawasan print t-shirts.

Kawasan has many waterfalls. The first one is the largest of the three, and is usually the most crowded. An uphill climb for fifteen minutes will take you to the second falls, and another, and another. Its a good idea to bring in your own food, the resort’s restaurants are not cheap and prices are not marked. We ran into problems with the prices getting higher as the day went on.

Cottages (1,500 to 2,500 php) and tables (500php) are also available for rent, the rooms are for overnight stay. You can rent a raft (300 php) to take you around the “pool” or for a refreshing “shower massage” under the falling water. Life vests are also available for rent.

The pathway back is very dark once the sun sets so its best to bring a flashlight. You should be extra careful in going down the slope especially the one descending from the second or third falls to avoid mishaps or accidents.

Kawasan Falls is a great get-away destination in the southern part of Cebu for family’s and gatherings.
